Leon Trotsky's passing through Tampico

On January 9, 1937 Leon Trotsky arrived to Tampico in company of his wife Natacha Sedoff and his grandson Esteban. When arriving at the port the ship anchored and a small canoe approached with representatives of the local authorities, Mexican and foreign journalists as well as some trustworthy friends. Among them Max Schachtman a Marxist journalist, George Novack, secretary of the North American Committee of Defense of Leon Trotsky and Frida Kahlo, wife of Diego Rivera who could not attend because she was ill in a hospital.
