To begin this route we recommended to leave early towards Mante City, located 153 km (95,62 miles) of Tampico by Highway 80. Few minutes away from this city you will find some natural attractions as they are:
The Aguja and The Nacimiento
On the loop highway, 200 meters with the junction to Highway 85 to Cd. Valles, you will find the best acces road to these beautiful places. After 4 km long, you will find the Aguja, a popular water resort with rustic installations for a picnic resting under the shadow of several trees. Following the same road, 4 kilometers ahead you will find the El Nacimiento, one of the deepest water caves in the world. It is worldwide known due to Shek Exley that broke two diving records in this place when he descent through depths of 238 m in 1988 and 265m in 1989 without even reaching the bottom. Is an ideal place to swim and enjoy the nature. It has picnic installations and a small restaurant. Floaters, boats can be rented which will you be able enter to the cave with crystalline water spring.
La Gruta de Quintero y La Cueva de El Abra
The Quintero Grotto is located 5.5 km of Cd. Mante by the Highway 85 to Cd. Valles, where you will find a small signboard to the right that will indicate the way to it. Two kilometers ahead you will find another warning towards the grotto that is 1.5 km away, the access is by a stone perron. By the same Highway 85, 4 km ahead is located the Cueva de El Abra, another cavity of the Cucharas Mountain Range. Here you will be able to admire the cellar that is at the bottom of the cave whose shot measures 116m. We recommended no enterong the grotto and the cave if it you do not have experience. After this pleasant ride we recommend you to return to Cd. Mante to spend the night. Here you will find hotels for all the tastes and pockets.
