The Casa de la Cultura (House of Culture) which occupies since 1988 the old municipal building of the Slaughter House built in 1923, is a space that has promoted culture and art among Tampíco’s citizens. It is located only one block away from the Hidalgo Avenue, besides the Municipal Auditorium. It is the site for the Historical Archives of Tampico “Carlos González Salas” which keeps the history of the city. Its rooms are used for the organization of workshops and temporary exhibits.
