On the ground floor of the Old Customs Building you will find the museum exposition “Tampico 1829… A Story to tell.” a space created thanks to the city project “Tampico 1829”, the hard work of “Club 29” and the all the citizens.
It opened on April the 5th of the year 2004. This project hopes to contribute to the historic, civic and cultural progress of our city and our country. This exhibit shows elements and images of the historic event, known as the “Tampico’s Victory of 1829”, that proclaimed the culmination of the Mexican Independence Movement by the triumph of the Mexican troops commanded by Brigadier Isidro Barradas. Here, you will admire the History Cannon of Tampico, weapons and objects of that époque, portraits and representative images, historic documents, commemorative flags and descriptive videos among other things. Visit hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM from Tuesdays to Sundays all year long.
