Pyramid of the Flowers

This cúe is a circular 36 meter base with a 6 meter high truncated cone and was originally crowned by a circular plant temple and a conical ceiling constructed of branches and leaves based on the Huastecan architectural prototype. According to some studies, it belonged to a settlement that flourished between the years 1000 and 1250 AC and it is believed that it was abandoned before Hernán Cortés conquered the Husateca in 1522. In this construction, there is evidence of 26 layers of agramasa, a mixture of sand and lime, and six substructures with eleven vestiges of staircases identified.
