Tampico, victim of Pirates, Buccaneers and Privateers

Tampico was victim of pirates, buccaneers and privateers who knocked down, burned the city and kidnapped their inhabitants, causing the fled of its settlers towards two regions, one to the south called Tampico Jewel and another one to the north that in 1749 was called Altamira.

Between the more known attacks is the one of the English pirates in 1568 with Sir John Hawkins at the top and the one of Lorencillo in 1684.
